Today I went to the Centre Georges Pompidou, which is the impressively wacky building covered in pipes pictured above. It’s a modern art gallery in the center of Paris with frequently changing exhibits. One that is currently in focus is the works of Jesus Rafael Soto, the sculptor responsible for the ‘Cube Pénétrable’, shown above, where a person walks through hundreds of coloured or partially-coloured plastic tubes hanging from an aluminium frame. The famous Stravinsky fountain was not working today, so there was no water in it, rendering it a bit useless as a fountain, but the massively silver lining of this not-very-problematic stormcloud was that I could go in the fountain and act like an idiot with the different sculptures.
